The Barbary series feature an array of beautifully crafted stave and segmented drums. This particular model is a Stave Padauk variant.

The stave Padauk variant of the Barbary series makes for a quality built and tonally pleasing snare drum that is off the charts in terms of projection and clarity. Stave drums by nature have a powerful and projecting sound with a short sharp attack, short sustain and short decay. if you like a punchy, short and crisp sound, stave shells are a perfect fit!
The addition of die cast hoops and a high gloss finish add to the overall attack and brightness of the sound.
The Padauk variant produces a sound that is projecting, bright and yet still maintains a "full bodied" sound, performing excellently at all tuning ranges; excelling in the higher tuning range.
