The Barbary series feature an array of beautifully crafted stave and segmented drums. This particular model is a Stave Black Walnut variant.

The stave Walnut variant of the Barbary series makes for a quality built and tonally pleasing snare drum that is full bodied, focused and versatile. Stave drums by nature have a powerful and projecting sound with a short sharp attack, short-medium sustain and short decay. They are punchy, articulate and very much "to the point", without excess overtones.
The addition of die cast hoops and a high gloss finish add to the overall attack and brightness of the sound.
The Walnut variant produces a sound that is projecting, dark, aggressive and woody with boosted lows and mids. A great versatile snare drum that with the right tuning, can suit almost any genre of music.
